Andrea Mattingly believes education is the key to improving communities

Andrea Mattingly saw value in a Purdue Global degree to help move her career forward. She’s sharing how earning an online master’s in business administration has contributed to success.

I’ve always wanted to earn an MBA. For me, it was never with a specific professional goal in mind. I really wanted the knowledge. Education opens doors. As the director of communications for Student Success Programs at Purdue University, I’ve seen firsthand how learning new things has an exponential impact. Through education, you can meet people, go places and encounter opportunities to make the world better.

Purdue Global was the perfect way for me to fill business gaps in my knowledge while still being present in my life. I have a full-time job and three children, so this program really checked every box.

An MBA instilled such a stronger sense of confidence in me and helped round me out as a professional.

While gaining my degree, I had my job, my children and my role as a lecturer as well. The ability to manage working, parenting and teaching along with achieving this goal built me up as a person and made me realize how strong I can be in what I want to accomplish.

My husband was 100% my biggest supporter through everything. When I first earned a master’s degree in technology, he was cheering me on and helping with the kids. This time around it was no different. It really does take a village.

An MBA instilled such a stronger sense of confidence in me and helped round me out as a professional. The content in my courses was a great bolster, but so was the act of completing the degree itself.

The flexibility of Purdue Global let me get my work done on my own time. It was different from my traditional undergraduate experience and the master’s that I studied for on weekends. The schedule and pace of earning my MBA was just right.

Education grants you the opportunity to improve yourself and your community. Helping others is really my main goal. I want to stay curious, keep learning and always be of service to the world.
