Purdue Global and the Boilermakers team up as part of three-year partnership

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Global, Purdue University's online educational solution for working adults, will be the presenting sponsor of the 2022 Boilermaker Football season.

The agreement between the two high-profile entities, secured by Purdue Sports Properties of LEARFIELD, will elevate the values and mission of Purdue Global to the forefront of broadcast, advertising and communication mediums associated with Boilermaker Football. Those opportunities include enhanced visibility for Purdue Global inside Ross-Ade Stadium, as well as Mackey Arena and title placements across radio, television, digital and social media in an overarching three-year partnership across all of Purdue Athletics.

"Athletics are widely regarded as the front porch to Purdue University, and Purdue Global will be there to welcome legions of Boilermaker fans, dressed in the same gold and black, as the presenting sponsor for the 2022 football season," said R. Ethan Braden, executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer for Purdue University and Purdue Global. "Purdue University is among the most innovative, prestigious yet affordable public institutions in the world. With Purdue Global in the portfolio, in addition to Purdue University Online, our regional campuses and our three Purdue Polytechnic High Schools, all with the support of the Purdue for Life Foundation, Purdue can become the land-grant university of the 21st century, helping more individuals than ever access opportunity with an education that students and employers trust. Just like what we routinely witness in Ross-Ade Stadium and on the practice fields, we look forward to sharing stories of persistence and determination at Purdue Global through the many channels that fans utilize to engage with Purdue Athletics."

With the partnership, and Purdue Global's prominent sponsorship on hallowed Purdue Athletics real estate, the university is determined and deliberate in communicating its unique commitment to the millions of working adults in the U.S. who have earned invaluable life experience and often some college credit, but no degree to date. Founded in 2018, Purdue Global is Purdue's public, nonprofit, online university with a mission of helping working adults leverage the skills they have and develop the skills they need to keep pace with rapidly changing workplace needs and achieve their career goals while balancing school, work and family.

Among Purdue Global's 34,000 currently enrolled students, and its more than 10,000 graduates annually, more than 60% are over the age of 30, a majority are the first in their family to pursue a college education, 42% are underrepresented minorities and nearly a third are serving or have served in the U.S. military.

"Our partnership with Purdue Global highlights the amazing level of innovation happening within the university," said Mike Bobinski, Purdue University vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics. "Purdue Global's ability to extend Purdue's reach and bring a valued and prestigious education to anyone in the world is something we are proud to have aligned with our football program and its exciting gameday atmosphere. We look forward to what we know will be a productive relationship."

Since 2013, Purdue University has advanced an ambitious agenda to place the university among the great academic institutions of the world, a plan called Purdue Moves. Purdue Global is a critical component of the Online Education pillar of Purdue Moves, determined to set a new standard for educating all types of students online by leveraging the best and most successful instructional technologies with proven teaching methods.

Head coach Jeff Brohm's Boilermakers kick off their 2022 campaign at home, hosting Penn State in a Thursday night matchup Sept. 1. The Big Ten Conference battle is slated to begin at 8 p.m. ET on FOX under the Ross-Ade Stadium lights. FOX is also bringing its Big Noon Kickoff pregame show to West Lafayette for the primetime game.
