Getting involved and staying true to yourself

As president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, Joshua Gregory is in persistent pursuit of his goals.

Joshua Gregory has grown through student organizations and internships

Joshua Gregory chose to come to Purdue after falling in love with the campus and people through a summer engineering program during his junior year of high school. Since then, he has enjoyed endless opportunities, created fun memories and remained true to himself.

Gregory is involved across campus. He serves as president of both the Rho Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. He’s a part of the National Society of Black Engineers. And he’s had multiple internship opportunities while at Purdue, including a role that allowed him to work on one of the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago, set to be completed in the fall of 2022.

Being a Boilermaker is being someone that works really hard and just gets things done. We’re very results-driven here.

“Being a Boilermaker is being someone that works really hard and just gets things done. We’re very results-driven here, and it shows up even in our new buildings, programs and opportunities,” says Gregory. “We are always ready to take the next step.”

Gregory gives back to fellow Boilermakers by uplifting them in their academics and ensuring everyone is safe in social settings. His advice for Boilermakers: Enjoy your time in college and stay true to yourself.  “Don’t judge yourself by others’ opinions, but judge yourself based on how far you’re going and your opinion of yourself.”

We are always ready to take the next step.
