Campuswide connection through STEM majors
Isabella Sirit, a senior in the College of Science, is active through the leadership team for Women in Science, the Honors research program as an undergraduate researcher for the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, and many other on- and off-campus involvements.
Isabella Sirit builds relationships through Women in Science Program
Isabella Sirit says the resources across campus and support from faculty and staff have made all the difference in her success and growth as a Boilermaker — and as a proud woman in the rigorous field of science, technology engineering and mathematics.
“Being heavily involved with the Women in Science Program since my freshman year, I have felt incredibly supported in my time here at Purdue,” she says. “There is an abundance of tutoring opportunities. I find that the faculty, staff and students have been the most uplifting and motivating part of being a woman in STEM.”

This past year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Purdue among the 10 Most Innovative universities in the country, and Forbes ranked Purdue fifth nationwide for graduating the most STEM majors. Because of the resources and opportunities that placed Purdue in these rankings, Sirit knows she will be prepared for life after graduation.
Sirit says the relationships she has made here have been her greatest accomplishments. She has joined the Women in Science Program and the Forensic Science Club, along with working as an undergraduate researcher for the Purdue Center for Cancer Research in the Honors Research Program and as an undergraduate teaching assistant for biology labs.
“The greatest achievements I have had are the relationships I have built with peers, family, faculty and staff,” she says. “These relationships have helped drive my passion for all my involvements across campus.”
